December 13, 2010 It Has begun

December 13, 2010
I just started redoing the art work that will be represented in my up coming junior review. This first day I started tweaking my architect poster; a lot of work was needed on the typography of the project. The piece needed order; the placing of the type was all off. Also there was color seeping into the cavities of the letters that need to ether taken away or to add design to the letter. The tweaking done to the piece pulled it together nicely. I haven’t decided whether to add a 3d effect or just keep it as is

Evrsoft First Page

Evrsoft First Page is a web design program, which claims to be a free of charge when you download it off the internet. This turns out to be false only the thirty-day trial is free. Thankfully the actual program doesn’t coast that much. It has full support for HTML, XHTML, PHP, ASP, Cold Fusion and many more. However the typing is very slow and typing large files is near impossible do to how slow the program reads the code. When you’re a web designer time is of the essence so I think I would go with another web design program.

Microsoft Expression

Microsoft Expression is a web design software similar to Adobes Dreamweaver,  unfortunately this program it only for the Windows users. However If you bought this program you better have a strong background in writing coed. Do to the fact that the program offers limited tech support. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad program though, its software is compatible XHTML, XML, CSS. Also Microsoft Expression Web  integrates with  Expression and Visual Studio. Another draw back however it’s a little pricy.

Jay Cut

Jay Cut it’s a free downloadable video editor, the interface is very neat and clean making it easier for your casual Joe. There is an above average selection of video effects that are at your disposal. There is unlimited storage within the program. There also is the ability to record and upload audio. Privacy is a whole other story; this is what brings this program down. Published videos automatically end up in public profile. To delete the video from your public profile takes some time to figure out. If you’re a privet person this free program might not be for you.

Picnik

Picnik is a web-based photo-editing program, that makes it easier to edit photos, make collages or slide shows. Some of the pros are that it connects to a number of social networking sites such as Face book or MySpace to make uploading and editing photos easier. Some of the downfalls to this program are you can only download five images at a time with the free account version. There is no layering, limited printing options, and you have to download every image to your computer before you can open it in Picnik.

Acrobat X

Acrobat X is the newest insulation to the Acrobat series it is the most powerful PDF software to date. There are high quality exports when transferring PDF files to other programs on your computer. However the only address book it will be able to except will be Outlooks. The automation features have been redone and made more powerful the whole program is faster then its predecessors. The program is still very easy to use, so if your happy with the past Acrobat programs then this is a must buy.

Web Studio 5 is the topic of conversation a program made so that almost anyone can use it, from seasoned code writers to your average person who knows a little bit about designing websites. This new edition of Web Studio comes with your standard features from object browser to customizable templates. Customer support is outstanding when running in to a problem if any. This program has the luxury of making template design very easy. However the skill setting need to take full advantage of this program needs to be a little bit above average. So those who sort of know what they’re doing when it comes to designing websites can reap the benefits.

Rapid Weaver 4.1

Realmac Rapid Weaver 4.1 is for people who find Adobes Dreamweaver program to complicated for use. Rapid Weaver still uses css just like Dreamweaver; it also integrates with Apple I photo. Also the Rapid Weaver only costs $80.00while Adobes Dreamweaver is $288.00. With Rapid Weaver you can easily publish podcasts, videos without learning any code. Its interface is clean, colorful and easy to use. Also integrating flash or some kind of photo gallery couldn’t be easier.

Web studio four is a program that makes it easier for people to create their own unique websites. However I feel the word unique is used to loosely due to the variety of the templates that you are able to choose from. Also the ability to crop images in the program is none existent. However when problems arise there is a button on the tool bar, which delivers you online tutorials, newsletters and forms in order to help with your problem. The program is easy to use when you want to create a fast website but the creative posses is limited to due the lack of variety within the program.

Chrome 6

Chrome 6 is a browser created by Google it has go through various upgrades in just two years. Some new developments have occurred on the new release of Chrome 6, such as the stop and reload bottom have bin combined into just one button on your screen. Instead of hitting the go button to search for the viewers intended web page, it is now just done with the simple press of the enter key on our keyboard. What I have read on it this new upgrade just appears to be just another way for a company to make money. The different versions of this bower seem to be very similar, and the tweaks seem to be minimal.
